The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System® was developed by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) as a national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. The USGBC has joined with the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) to develop the LEED-Neighborhood Development standards.
